Overview
The Rewards.de app is a platform that allows users to earn money by engaging in various activities, mainly mobile games. When the team first approached me, they had a MVP and some good ideas, my role as Lead Designer in this project consisted in improving user journeys and turning them into real experiences, building a scalable product with a consistent design system.

My Role: Lead Product Designer | Timeline: jan 2024 - jun 2025
Improving usability with UI

Challenge: Unique PWA, attribution mechanics and text-heavy interfaces that scared users away for lack of system feedback, affecting user engagement.

Solution: By defining clear goals for each step of the user journey I was able to simplify the user experience around earning and redeeming rewards by simply turning the interface into a more visual experience. All the mechanics where defined in the backend: offers steps, attribution timeline, rewards triggers... The solution was simply create a interface where progress bars and illustrations show users the progress and movement happening, creating a gamified and engaging experience.
Gamification

Challenge: How to keep users engaged after offers end and/or how to keep them interest in new offers?

Solution: Several bonus features were developed to test user retention, like games install goals with bonuses for onboarding users, a daily streak to track the gameplay and reward usage, among other rewards like daily bonuses and quests.

While working on this, to future-proof the product, I've established a robust design system that included a documentation of modular components with clear usage guidelines, states and accessibility notes.

The system was designed to be flexible for future features like referral systems, seasonal events, and personalized tasks.
User Journeys & Development

An important part of the process was to document the user journeys as I worked on each new feature.

Solution: Each screen was labeled with an exclusive number and title creating sections that later were listed at Figjam, where each section had a color attributed to it. I mapped the entire user flow from onboarding to edge cases like seasonal events.

Improvements tracked with user flows:
- Categorized, filterable pages for surveys, games, and cashback tasks
- Progress system and clear status indicators for each task
- Simplified profile and wallet area with clear data access
Design Impact & Takeaways

As design is more than pretty screens, the work aligned with the team developers and stakeholders has:

- Defined clearer user journeys and engaging loops (gamification)
- Improved market position aligning with visual standards
- Supported product growth through scalable UI patterns
