The Product
The Rewards.de app is a platform that allows users to earn money by engaging in various activities, mainly mobile games. When the team first approached me, they had a MVP and some good ideas, my role as Lead Designer in this project consisted in improving user journeys and turning them into real experiences, building a scalable product with a consistent design system.

Problem
Unique PWA, attribution mechanics and text-heavy interfaces that scared users away for lack of system feedback, affecting user engagement.
Solution
Unique PWA, attribution mechanics and text-heavy interfaces that scared users away for lack of system feedback, affecting user engagement.
Solution
By defining clear goals for each step of the user journey I was able to simplify the user experience around earning and redeeming rewards turning the interface into a more engaging experience. All the mechanics where defined in the backend: offers steps, attribution timeline, rewards triggers... The solution was to create an interface where game elements (progress bars, prizes, illustrations) shows the users the progress happening, creating a gamified and engaging experience.
Design System Audit
Unique PWA, attribution mechanics and text-heavy interfaces that scared users away for lack of system feedback, affecting user engagement.
Introduced clearer feedback states, interaction patterns, and visual hierarchy to reduce user friction, making dense interfaces more approachable and improving overall engagement.
Improved content hierarchy, icons and improved copy to teach users about mechanics.
Created tokens and defined documentation for component use logic.
Documenting the user journey
Identifying dead ends and friction points affecting the usability.
Each screen was labeled with an exclusive number and title creating sections that later were listed at Figjam, where each section had a color attributed to it. I mapped the entire user flow from onboarding to edge cases like seasonal events.
Gamification
How to keep users engaged after offers end and/or how to keep them interest in new offers?
Several bonus features were developed to test user retention, like games install goals with bonuses for onboarding users, a daily streak to track the gameplay and reward usage, among other rewards like daily bonuses and quests.
Welcome Bonus and Daily Streak
Daily Bonus
Profile VIP Status and Badge collection
Conclusion
Successfully defined clearer user journeys and engaging loops (gamification) improving market position & supported product growth through scalable UI patterns.
